I always love the prints that Trina Turk has in her tunics and dresses, so it seems naturally fitting that she collaborate to develop indoor/outdoor textile designs for Schumacher.

In San Francisco, one must master the art of layering (something I am still trying to accomplish!). You must be a guru of cardigans, jackets...anything to take the chill off of that looming hour when the sun starts to go down and the wind and fog start in. Japanese designers and products always make me think things like "crazy/genius cute."
First, a master level paper project...not only do you endeavor to craft the sushi set, but after it's "built" the fish will flop mechanically on its paper cutting board. Then there is this cat camera...it comes in a cat canister and meows and flashes its eyes at you when you take a picture...again, just too darn crazy cute. Order these online from Urban Outfitters!

Anything with embroidery always catches my attention. Added that its translucent in a nice easy going color, its a need-to-buy item for my closet. I would wear it over this soft pink sweater to give it a little fun fluff. And you can't forget these cute matching vintage earrings!

The top is a see-through tunic, so I prefer to wear one sweater or camisole under it. If you wear this one with black pants, it could be formal style. On the other hand, if you wear leggings or a skirt with it, it would be casual and should be cute!

Recession Chat on Design Sponge

I love that Grace at Design Sponge is gearing her Biz Ladies Meetups towards discussion of surviving this economy. As both an independent retail and wholesale owner, I will hope to be like Dickens and look back and say "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times." While it is daunting to watch the market nose dive, on the design front it is an essential and exciting time to renew, refresh, rearrange priorities and channel different outlets of creativity. I am positive that this time will help keep us from getting too comfortable in our routines and challenge us all to adapt in new ways.
