I always love the prints that Trina Turk has in her tunics and dresses, so it seems naturally fitting that she collaborate to develop indoor/outdoor textile designs for Schumacher.

This silky geometric tunic dress ($72) at our boutique is up for today's "Thursday Threads"!
detail scarf $27
Navy patent clutch $38
Gold-filled earrings $54
The fun print on this dress itself is reason enough to want to wear it, and little pintuck details and kimono sleeves make it extra special. To keep the dress the highlight of the outfit, I'd love to pair it with a sleek patent clutch and springy, gauzy scarf woven with subtle gold threads to complement the dress colors.
Blue textured bangle $26
Print dresses are always a simple and easy way to look great. With all the great colors on this dress, I like to wear little accessories to make it stand out even more. Add the leggings and I feel perfect to show it off.
Gold belt $15
Heart charm necklace $36.50

In San Francisco, one must master the art of layering (something I am still trying to accomplish!). You must be a guru of cardigans, jackets...anything to take the chill off of that looming hour when the sun starts to go down and the wind and fog start in. This jacket is an essential for that and at $89 it won't dent your wallet!
above: Charcoal Fleece Jacket, $89
Perfect for these winter-to-spring cold transition days. I get tempted to put on colorful dresses but know I'll need to carry a versatile coat like this around for the next few months to come. On colder days I'd layer it over a slim, long sleeve sweater.
Finish it off with a simple yet bold, punchy accessory like this turquoise/gold ring and you're ready to go!
Dress, out of stock (but we've got others like it in vintage, one-of-a-kind fabrics)
Flower Ring, $19
Not only does this jacket look soft, it feels super comfy. I can wear it whereever, whenever! Some days it is just all about comfort. This jacket over this cute corduroy dress is the ultimate laid back outfit for me. Did I mention this dress has pockets too? Add on the vintage copper necklace and I'm set to go.
Corduroy dress $49 (on sale)
Copper charm necklace $43
I chose the pair this dress with leggings. It is so cute, but really comfortable too!
Above, floral design dress $67.50, leggings $27. Available at Cat Seto.

My amazingly talented friend Abby of Style Me Pretty always has the best finds. I love her feature on the organic jewelry of Blue Poppy, especially their delicate rings and earrings made of crushed clovers!

Jenny Lee Fowler's leaf silhouette has been making its way around blogs lately and I just couldn't resist posting up her other creations. I love the watermelon rendition, especially that it's uber neat and eco-friendly.

One last thing to contribute to the category of "super/genius cute" are these Totoro cupcakes! Have you ever seen the anime film of this adorable creature, or the cat bus that slinks around with headlights and its big Cheshire grin? I could go on and on...
Have a Happy Cupcake Friday and weekend everyone!

Japanese designers and products always make me think things like "crazy/genius cute."
First, a master level paper project...not only do you endeavor to craft the sushi set, but after it's "built" the fish will flop mechanically on its paper cutting board. Then there is this cat camera...it comes in a cat canister and meows and flashes its eyes at you when you take a picture...again, just too darn crazy cute. Order these online from Urban Outfitters!

Here's a fun Tuesday Thread courtesy of the team. I love seeing their individual takes on this embroidered tunic from our boutique!
above: Uno Core Embroidered tunic, $49.50
Anything with embroidery always catches my attention. Added that its translucent in a nice easy going color, its a need-to-buy item for my closet. I would wear it over this soft pink sweater to give it a little fun fluff. And you can't forget these cute matching vintage earrings!
Kersh Pink sweater $65
Vintage earrings $28
The top is a see-through tunic, so I prefer to wear one sweater or camisole under it. If you wear this one with black pants, it could be formal style. On the other hand, if you wear leggings or a skirt with it, it would be casual and should be cute!

Charm necklaces $43
The subtle striping & embroidered detailing makes this tunic special, and it's in such a wearable color. I'd love to pair it with pleated wide-leg trousers and toughen it up a bit with ladylike chains for a breezy, casual-but-polished look!
Grey trousers, on sale for $43
Silver chain necklace, $52

I love that Grace at Design Sponge is gearing her Biz Ladies Meetups towards discussion of surviving this economy. As both an independent retail and wholesale owner, I will hope to be like Dickens and look back and say "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times." While it is daunting to watch the market nose dive, on the design front it is an essential and exciting time to renew, refresh, rearrange priorities and channel different outlets of creativity. I am positive that this time will help keep us from getting too comfortable in our routines and challenge us all to adapt in new ways.

Looking for a "fun" bag (you know...the big printed, big shaped ones that you wear on the weekends?). These bags by Hands Full Creations will accomplish just that.

It's an understatement to say that I am a little addicted to my laptop. My shiny, happy little Mac was all that I needed until I saw HP's designer laptop clutch by Vivienne Tam. A laptop that doubles as a clutch! It's small enough to fit into a purse and weighs in just under 2 1/2 pounds.
